Broadband Compare in the mixer for the Westpac Auckland Business Awards
Thursday, 29 June 2017

As we celebrate our first full year of trading as Broadband Compare since our official re-launch on 30th June 2016 we can look back and see the many achievements we have made.  It is this great progress that prompted us to enter the 2017 Westpac Auckland Business Awards.

The Westpac Auckland Business Awards are delivered annually by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED).

The awards have been running for over 10 years and the list of previous winners is an impressive bunch including the likes of Eat My Lunch and Mitre 10.  We’re proud to have simply entered and put ourselves in the mix and we have our fingers crossed that we will make the shortlist of finalists that are announced in early August... from there… who knows.  To win would be amazing but just the process of entering and taking stock of our achievements to date has been a great benefit and some of the numbers we have seen so far are impressive to review.  We’re really proud that we’re making a difference in Kiwi lives in helping them find the best broadband plan for their needs.

The entries in the 2017 Westpac Auckland Business Awards have exceeded all previous years and so here at Broadband Compare we are up against a large number of Auckland businesses looking to profile their achievements in both innovation and excellence.

The Auckland Business Awards attract a wide range of businesses from many different sectors, both business to consumer and business to business.  We’ve been told that there are over 130 companies across Auckland that have entered this year’s Auckland Business Awards making up over 230 category entries across the region… so we are going to have to hope that our stats and achievements make us stand out!

In all areas there are examples of outstanding creativity represented in businesses such as: Central – My Food Bag, Pushpay and Merlot Aero Ltd; North - Ecoware, Lemon Tree Design Ltd, Push My Button; South -  Farm Medix, PPP Industries, Ecobagsnz Ltd; West - Nitrogenx, The Tasting Shed, Rubber Tree Ltd.

Judging is undertaken by an independent team of volunteer judges and over the next six weeks the judges will be assessing all entries… including Broadband Compare.  Wish us luck and thanks for your support in using the site, we’re nothing without our users!
