Been with these guys from i 4 free tried telecom (spark) and vodafone. Comes down to what each customer wants and needs. For me the services is what comes when things don't work and how to make it right. They all have there Pros and Cons but they are different for each of us. I look around and if I see something like, I am type of customer who will talk to my Provider first. This is the support I get when we can talk to each other, it's the history we have made with each other that keeps us happy not the prices. ...read more

Do not recommend. Have has Spark Wireless Broadband for well over a year. Was not any faster than copper (altho this was it's selling point). The landline continually cut out during conversations so we got rid of that thinking it might help. It didn't. Other people have also complained of this happening. Spark seemed unable to help with that problem. There is a limit of 120 GB per month and at $10 for 10GB for extra it is very expensive. Had enough and am looking at going back to copper
Pros
Does not need a wire to the house
Cons
Useless. Do not recommend. I do not understand why Spark keep on pushing Wireless Broadband so heavily

Spark provided shocking customer service - very hard to get through to resolve connection issue and stung with fee for diagnosis report but had to make numerous attempts to get verbal understanding of report. Very poor service and exorbitant cost.

Constant issues with months without internet costing huge amounts of money for data on mobile
ALWAYS claiming issues are inside the house and always finding it to be outside after techie comes after weeks of efforts on my side
Pros
Easy to fall into the habit if Trustpower is your provider
Cons
Expensive
Easy to use way too much extra data as limitless data never works two days running
Hidden costs galore pushing accounts sky high

I am at present looking for an ISP to take over from Vodafone.co.nz who I have been with since it was just called Ihug or Internet Home Users Group. I have found the company A1 or 10 out of 10 how ever you want to grade it. At any time they have been there for me whenever I had a problem, their IT staff have been really great. I will find it hard to find such a professional ISP to replace them. All I can say now is, thank you Vodafone for your past service.

There was not enough customer focus on Sparks part to ensure that they kept the business.
Pros
No technical issues .
Cons
Speed and no customer contact.

We recently signed up to skinny unlimited broadband.

We were told we would be connected within 5 days which was great.

We have today cancelled our contract after 12 days of bad service, terrible communication and broadband speeds which makes dial up look like fibre.

Details below:
Pros
Cheap.
Cons
Lack of communication with customers, irrelevant automated emails which did not update us on our connection, rather tell us something we wanted to hear which would generally be the opposite of the actual situation. Once we responded to these emails, we would receive an email saying to"please disregard the automated emails from our system"

Did not receive 1 phone call after almost 2 weeks of bad service to help the situation, instead automated, impersonal emails.

No logging of faults case in the skinny system, which meant every time we called to discuss the connection issues, we had to repeat the entire situation to a new operator each time we called.

Multiple hangups while on hold, then no call backs to continue the conversation.

Told they were "too busy to make a call back" when we asked to not be put on hold and be called back once progress had been made.

2-3 day periods of no update information, only when we called could we find out what the progress was. Often previous conversations were not logged in the system so a chorus technician would have to be re-booked.

Absolutely terrible service, no apologies or consideration after 12 days of conversation with badly trained employees.

Would welcome a phone call from skinny management to discuss how bad their service is and what they could do to provide a better service.

Come on skinny! Make the call! Oh wait... You don't do out bound calls because you are too busy right....
