I was really unhappy with Farmside when we believed we were charged unfairly. I have never pursued a company so much, and they were rigid in saying no (though the reasons given changed).
Pros
It was satellite broadband. Generally it went as well as I'd expected.
Cons
The 20GB monthly limit was tight, and on one occasion we breached it significantly without receiving notifications warning us from Farmside, and having difficulty logging into their website because they had changed it. They were utterly unwilling to concede any error on their part and insisted on us paying the complete sum, even though Consumer agreed they were being unreasonable. ...read more

Lovely reading about fibre speeds of 1gbp. Meanwhile we get about 4mbp. Would like satellite internet but 2 degrees will not say when/if they are going to provide it (don't really want to change our email address again).
Pros
Reliable
Cons
Reliably slow

I got a special 12 month deal for unlimited VDSL Naked Broadband for $54.99 per month with free lightbox and landline, and a $200 credit. That's why I gave 10/10 for value. But the price has gone up by $5 per month, my 12 months is coming to an end, and fibre is now available at my address, so I'm switching to another better value provider.
Pros
Great initial special offer, reliable service, speeds of ~27mbps down and ~2.5mbps up.
Cons
Too expensive now and there are better deals around. Speed issues when I first switched (not much better than ADSL, especially uploads) and customer support were not particularly helpful.

I am paying a small fortune for Slingshot's ultrafibre plan, which they advertise as supporting simultaneous streaming on multiple devices with speeds up to 1000 mpbs up and 500 down. Like most ISPs, they set me up with a standard modem/router, which could not begin to service a medium-to-large house on its own. In fact, the signal is only detectable on one floor of the house and then without speeds of about 10/10 (or 1/1000 of what I am paying for). Purchased an expensive Google mesh router system to extend wifi to the rest of the house. Works, but pretty slow (100/200). Asked Slingshot to either bridge their modem for me or walk me through doing it myself -- which is standard tech support at any ISP that I have ever had -- and they refused. Claimed that it was a "non-standard practice" that they did not support. So, I am paying for ultra high speed internet and receiving something between high speed and dial up in my house, because there is no way to bridge my modem for networking. Sure glad that I am locked into a 12-month contract with a company with email-only tech support. ...read more
Pros
They can deliver ultra high speed fibre into your house.
Cons
You will not actually be able to network your devices at much more than dial up speeds, and having high speed internet that is unusable is actually worse (and more expensive) than not having it available at all.

We were with Spark for many years and they were sufficient for our needs, although we knew we would pay less elsewhere. Shifting to a new house was a good time to change so we looked around and found (through your website) a much better deal with a MyRepublic offer.
Pros
Good customer support. A company that has stood the test of time.
Cons
A real tendency to obscure actual prices of their service through bundling things like Lightbox into the deal. However, they do seem to be more transparent recently. For years Spark abused their market leader status, and happily frustrated competition. Glad to see the rise of so many ohter players in the mix. ...read more
