I am paying a small fortune for Slingshot's ultrafibre plan, which they advertise as supporting simultaneous streaming on multiple devices with speeds up to 1000 mpbs up and 500 down. Like most ISPs, they set me up with a standard modem/router, which could not begin to service a medium-to-large house on its own. In fact, the signal is only detectable on one floor of the house and then without speeds of about 10/10 (or 1/1000 of what I am paying for). Purchased an expensive Go
ogle mesh router system to extend wifi to the rest of the house. Works, but pretty slow (100/200). Asked Slingshot to either bridge their modem for me or walk me through doing it myself -- which is standard tech support at any ISP that I have ever had -- and they refused. Claimed that it was a "non-standard practice" that they did not support. So, I am paying for ultra high speed internet and receiving something between high speed and dial up in my house, because there is no way to bridge my modem for networking.
