Digital technology can make a significant, positive impact on our nation's social and economic wellbeing – enabling stronger, safer, more connected communities (even in the most remote rural areas), opening more opportunities for our children (regardless of their socio-economic backgrounds), and improving health outcomes for New Zealanders of all ages and walks of life.

It can enable Kiwi companies to compete - and win - on the world stage and become smarter, more agile businesses by harnessing all the benefits of new technologies such as Cloud services and the Internet of Things.

Spark's success is dependent on our customers in one key market: New Zealand. That's why we're passionate about using technology to be truly useful to our customers, helping make our country better and enriching the lives of all New Zealanders. We want to be the most valued brand in the home, and the most trusted partner for business.

Intending to relocate to Kinloch near Taupo, a Spark technician recommended we try wireless broadband with 120G limit instead of unlimited data on ADSL system. At our previous address, we had Sky so 120G was adequate in his opinion. However, having cancelled Sky at the new home and using Netflix and/or internet instead,we are finding that we now require unlimited data. When we requested a switch back to ADSL, the Spark technician offered to send a Chorus rep to check that we had the copper wiring. Although the appropriate wiring is available at our new home, she contacted me to say we couldn't be connected to ASDL although she gave no reason. Subsequent calls to Spark show that the cabinet supplying this new subdivision MAY be filled to capacity and we can't be included until another resident leaves or Chorus increases the capacity. Interestingly, there are SEVEN other new homes under construction in our subdivision and they will all be needing unlimited data as several have relocated to work from home via computer. These new prospective customers will be as bemused as are we to be limited to 120G on the wireless system: their only broadband option if Chorus isn't prepared to increase the cabinet capacity. ...read more
Pros
A few of the Spark technicians were helpful while others were not!
Cons
Insufficient broadband data for the needs of new and existing customers in the area,
Expensive having to buy 10G of data once the120G limit is exceeded: quickly!
With today's technology Chorus isn't doing the best job of catering to it's ever-growing client base in this fast-growing region.
Many of the new home-owners have relocated from Auckland where unlimited data is the norm!

Steer clear. Spark is a large organization... you get all their problems as a result. Overcharging, long support wait times with less-than-experienced support crew (pretty basic "is the modem switched on" stuff).

They are con merchants in my book - quick to get you on board but v slow to give much back. $4.95 wiring maintenance (3.95 or free elsewhere).
Pros
ummm.... they have online support chat. If you can wait.
Cons
ΓÇó Drip-feed charging (lots of little add-ons which make for a big bill).
• Need to keep your eye on their billing.
ΓÇó Less-than-transparent price increases.
ΓÇó Messy plan structure (deals that come and go and leave you on higher than expected rates). ...read more

Totally inefficient websites for My Spark, when seeking help
Pros
Still wondering about this one
Cons
as above. Not good assistance when chatting on line for assistance. Huge delays on call backs. Not giving total info when asking about contracts and in this aspect I mean availability of types of phones.
