Slingshot Broadband

slingshot broadband nz

From the start, Slingshot has been challenging the telco industry and fighting to give New Zealand families better value broadband, supported by amazing service.

Slingshot NZ know that in the modern world, it is crucial to stay online, but they also know how confusing it might be to get online. They have worked hard to make Slingshot easy, affordable and hassle-free – because this guys know you have other important things to do and spend your time on than sorting your internet.

They are dedicated to making broadband simple, affordable, easy to use, and cover the needs of a modern family – whether they are intensely streaming videos, gaming all day, or just spending their time on Facebook.

Slingshot broadband is part of the Vocus Group of companies.

Slingshot Broadband offer ultrafast Fibre & Naked Broadband Plans for New Zealand.

They have a range of different broadband plans available. Some of their broadband plans include a home phone line whilst other broadband plans are like Naked Broadband and don't have a home telephone line.

The type of broadband connection you can get depends on your address and area. They offer all types of broadband connection, Fibre, VDSL and ADSL dependant on what is available in your broadband region.

Yup saw the details from chorus about upgrading speed to 300 mbps. Checked and getting 20 checked again and again got up to 34 mbps. Getting time outs when going to other sites.
Just as soon as the year is up I'm off , never to come back. Thats vodafone, 2 degrees and slingshot out of the running.
Pros
cheap
Cons
doesnt work well

Was with them for a year. I was getting average fibre speeds of about 9Mb/s and constantly contacting help-desk. They would get speed back up to 70 to 100mb/s but then within 30 mins, speed would go back down to below 10. I thought they were scamming me. Will never use slingshot again, for anything.
Pros
None
Cons
Constantly Slow fibre speeds. Ineffective help desk

We have been long time slingshot customers with no problems until moving to a new address.
Since having fibre installed at the new address we have had 3 months of nearly non existent internet.
We have had many phone calls between slingshot and us. Each time we speak to a different person who gets us to run the same tests, which don’t work because our internet doesn’t work.
Pros
Helpline people are polite .
Cons
Internet not useable

Cannot reach these guys to report a problem tried various of their contact numbers and nobody answers - it just rings or plays music. Not even a number in-line or a time estimate. Just crap customer services as in nil customer services unless you do by email at their own convenience of when it suits them to answer you. So over this NZ style of customer service that will try in time another ISP.
Pros
Great at getting one on-board or was it back then when they had people to answer the phone request.
Cons
Crap service in ringing in. No phone numbers answered or if were went to music or just left ringing internally.

Has done everything required. Noticed that Slingshot claim the speed upgrade as their initiative when it was Enable (who informed me of it 2 weeks earlier).
Pros
Haven't needed support so no comment. Arranged connection very quickly with Enable.
Cons
Could always be cheaper - I think about $45 to $50/mo for a 12mo contract would be fair.
